The dictionary contains over 8,000 terms most commonly used in modern molecular genetic and cellular biotechnology, as well as in general and medical genetics, immunology, virology, microbiology, embryogenetics, biochemistry, bioinformatics, ecology, bionanotechnology, and other rapidly developing biological disciplines closely related to biotechnology.
An important part of understanding the origin of terms is the etymology of the English words used in the dictionary. In order to expand the readers' competence, the dictionary provides the names of the scientists who gave the terms and the years in which these terms appeared. Nobel Prizes received for the most significant contribution to the creation and development of the concepts provided in the dictionary are also indicated.
